Quick Short Crust Pastry
A lower fat recipe for short crust pastry which is enough to make two very big pasties.
100g strong plain flour
50g self raising flour
20g Trex shortening
30g butter
a pinch of salt
enough cold water to bind into dough
Mix the flours together with the salt.
Rub in the fats until rough breadcrumbs
Add water to form the dough
Wrap in clingfilm and allow to rest in fridge for at least 10 minutes and then it is ready for rolling.
